Florida - Alpha Omega
3 December by Smith Meyers
The Alpha Omega Chapter at the University of Florida was awarded IFC Chapter of the Year and Outstanding Multicultural Initiative at the University of Florida’s Greek Awards Banquet. Alpha Omega was awarded as IFC Chapter of the Year out of the 24 chapters in the council. We were noted for our excellence in scholarship, philanthropy, service, and educational programming. Alpha Omega is extremely honored to have been selected as the top chapter in the Interfraternity Council at UF and we are proud to represent Alpha Tau Omega at the University of Florida. Additionally, Alpha Omega was awarded Outstanding Multicultural Initiative. The chapter was given this honor for bringing in the Director of the Institute of Black Culture to talk with the chapter about bystander intervention in relation to multicultural awareness, for inviting minority student organizations to participate in our philanthropy for the first time ever, and for collaborating with one of the multicultural fraternities at UF on their philanthropic event. Alpha Omega is very honored to be recognized for both of these awards and we look forwards to what we will be accomplish over this next year.
