ATO Gamma Rho Missouri – Brother Goes To Guatemala

From January 3rd-10th, Brother Privitera spent his winter break by traveling the world to Guatemala for a service trip. He traveled with the organization Hearts in Motion to Zacapa, Guatemala. Hearts in Motion is a volunteer organization whose main mission is, “Empowering our volunteers to change the lives of people in poverty”. Upon arriving in Zacapa, Brother Privitera began doing social work for the local communities. The work consisted of building a playground in an orphanage, providing books and bookshelves for the local school, building water filters and also making solar powered light bulbs for the local homes. While doing this work, Privitera was also able to interact with the locals, spending time and hanging out with them.
