Merck Scholarship for Excellence in Science (Washington & Jefferson 20150908)

Brother Tyler McCullough of the Alpha Pi chapter spent the summer at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Thanks to funding from Washington & Jefferson College’s Merck Program, Brother McCullough extracted and characterized bioactive compounds from plants and fungi found in Florida. He performed separation chemistry (TLC, column chromatography), fungi culture work, bioassays, NMR acquisition and interpretation of data. Congratulations on this honor!
