Virginia Tech – Theta Delta Chapter – Sweetheart Spotlight (Virginia Tech 20180405)

This edition of the ATO Sweetheart Spotlight features our very own, Tessa Dean. Tessa is now a senior at Virginia Tech and became one of our sweethearts during the spring of her junior year. She was first exposed to the fraternity by one of the brothers who has been her best friend since middle school. He introduced her to his pledge class and she has been friends with all of them since then. She says that it has been really fun to watch each brother grow up in ATO and become the men that they are today. Tessa’s favorite ATO memory is when she was awarded with the sweetheart position. She came to one of our chapter meetings that day to give a presentation as a relay for life representative and was confused at first when brothers began handing her flowers. She was super surprised when she realized that she had just become a sweetheart for ATO. Tessa is proud to contribute to ATO by being there for support of any brother or sweetheart who needs it. She also loves getting involved in our philanthropy and service projects, especially pancakes for police. To Tessa, “Being a sweetheart is a tremendous honor. To have friendships and continuous support from over 100 guys is a unique experience, and something that I cherish every day.” She undoubtedly loves and respects all of her brothers and will miss being a part of the fraternity when she graduates in May. However, she has a lot to look forward to. She is currently in the process of deciding between UVA, Columbia, and Tufts for graduate school. Her dream career is to be a School Psychologist in a low-income school district. We all wish her the best of luck for the upcoming times and look forward to her visiting again in the near future.
