INDIANAPOLIS – Bob Creson, president and chief executive officer of Wycliffe Bible Translators became ATO’s 217,000th initiate as part of the Alpha Tau Omega 150th Anniversary Celebration Weekend.

Mr. Creson’s initiation took place on August eighth inside the Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Indianapolis, – one of the grandest ATO initiation settings ever.

“It’s an honor to have Bob Creson as a new brother in the Fraternity. The ideals and principles ATO was founded on are reflected in the work of Bob and Wycliffe Bible Translators as a whole,” said Alpha Tau Omega Chief Executive Officer Wynn Smiley.

“Wycliffe Bible Translators and the hundreds of other missions organizations doing good work around the world always need more men like the ones Alpha Tau Omega is producing,” Creson said. “It’s an honor to be initiated into an organization that is so committed to sharpening young men into strong, Godly leaders and building a community of active, engaged brotherhood.”

Alpha Tau Omega was founded at the Virginia Military Institute in 1865 as a peace organization to reunite the north and south after the Civil War. ATO was the first greek letter fraternity found on Christian principles. It boast chapters on 140 college campuses nationwide with 10,000 undergraduate members and more than 160,000 living alumni.
