Lander ATOs partner with Red Cross

Feb 9, 2010

Students and residents who traverse the campus of Lander University this week will have an opportunity to donate to the American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.

Alpha Tau Omega social service chairman Will Metts said the fraternity is partnering with Red Cross this week for a Help for Haiti fundraising drive. The fraternity will have a booth set up on Lander’s campus through Friday where it will be selling blue Maltese crosses for $1 and gold crosses for $5.

All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund, which is providing support to Haiti following the devastating Jan. 12 earthquake in Port-au-Prince.

“We figured this would be a good way to get the community involved and gain support Help for Haiti,” Metts said.

Metts said the fraternity also will set up donation kiosks this week at Rajn’ Rooster restaurant and Alltel.
