Nebraska - Gamma Theta

We are incredibly excited to announce that our chapter president, Sam Jensen, was the first student, on a campus of 30,000 people, to receive the Sam Foltz award based upon his character. Sam Foltz was a Husker punter who was an exceptional role model on and off the field, a strong believer in Christ, and a man of integrity. As goes the president, as goes the chapter. We cannot wait to see how the chapter functions following the next couple of years as Sam Jensen has set the stage for this chapter leading with caring, courage, commitment and open-mindedness. We congratulate him for being recognized by the vice-chancellor and character council. Above, Sam Jensen is picture with the parents of Sam Foltz and the Vice-Chancellor. "The Sam Foltz Award is so important to the Character Council because it is an opportunity for us to honor the legacy of Sam Foltz and the character and integrity he represented,” said Jerica Burgess, president of the Character Council, the student organization who selects Franco’s List recipients. This year the council honored senior Sam Jensen from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources with the Foltz award. Foltz's parents were in attendance to present the inaugural award and expressed their appreciation for the character-based honor.” – UNL Student Affairs
