CofC ATO are Back to Back Champions!
Charleston - Beta Xi
By River Galicia Oct 10, 2015
Last year, almost directly after the Charleston ATO colony was created, we participated in Kappa Alpha Theta’s KAT at the Bat philanthropy week competition. Throughout the week, we completed certain tasks in order to earn points, such as taking pictures with Thetas, playing dizzy bat around campus, buying shirts, making a banner, and donating money. This year, we participated again in the hopes of winning KAT at the Bat two times in a row. Our brothers banded together and participated in every event that Theta hosted during the week, and when Friday came, it was time for the wiffle ball tournament. The year before we made it all the way to the final round, where we then won. This year, with an inspirational speech before our first game from one of our brothers, we went into our game with fire in our hearts. However, even with the thoughts of winning in our minds, we could not win our first game and we were eliminated from the tournament. Yet since we did so well during the week, we managed to offset the differences and win the week, becoming back to back champions! Already this year, CofC ATO has won both philanthropy weeks that we have participated in, and we plan on keeping the tradition going.
