Purdue ATO Honors Brother Tim St. John Through 4th Annual “Tri for Tim”

This spring, the brothers of Purdue Alpha Tau Omega hosted their 4th annual Tri for Tim, honoring the life and legacy of late brother Tim St. John while bringing together brothers, alumni, family, and the greater Purdue community for a weekend of remembrance and philanthropy.

Created in Tim’s memory after his passing in 2022, Tri for Tim has become one of the chapter’s most meaningful traditions. The event features a variety of ways to participate, including a 5K, mini triathlons, and a 24-hour stationary bikeathon completed by ATO undergraduate members and alumni.

This year, the chapter raised more than $25,000 in support of the Tim St. John Foundation, which continues Tim’s legacy through service and community impact. But for the men, the weekend has always represented something deeper than fundraising.

“Tri for Tim is not about the money we raise; it’s about honoring Tim and keeping his legacy alive within our brotherhood,” shared the chapter’s Philanthropy Chairman.

That legacy continues to shape the chapter in meaningful ways, especially for younger members who never had the chance to know Tim personally. Each year, brothers make a point to share his story and the impact he had on those around him, ensuring his memory remains a lasting part of their culture.

Purdue ATO continues to honor Tim St. John in a powerful way, and the fraternity is proud to recognize the chapter’s commitment to carrying forward the legacy of their brother.
