Belmont ATO honored with the Bruin Award

May 14, 2010

Ben Pate, Belmont ’07, received the 2009-10 Bruin Award for Student Leadership from Belmont University.

The award is given in recognition of exceptional leadership, outstanding contribution to the campus experience, and exemplary representation of the university’s ideal of engaging and transforming the world.

Pate is president of the Iota Phi chapter of Alpha Tau Omega at Belmont. As such, he flew to Washington, D.C., in March to accept the North American Intrafraternity Conference Chapter of Distinction Award. Belmont’s Iota Phi chapter is one of only four other chapters from various Greek organizations to receive this distinct honor.

He has also served on Belmont’s Judicial Committee for three years, and has been appointed to serve again next year. On the Judicial Committee, he has served as Chief Justice his sophomore and junior year, and has been appointed to that role again for his senior year.

Pate is a junior music business and entertainment major. He is the son of Jill and Dan Pate of Rome.
