CHAPTER ETERNAL — Charles M. Lockhart, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011.

Mr. Lockhart was born Nov., 2, 1930, in Pampa, where he was a lifelong resident. He attended school in Laketon through the sixth grade, and was a 1947 graduate of Pampa High School.

He married Jan Sanders on Sept. 4, 1954, in Pampa. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas Tech University in 1955, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

Mr. Lockhart was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. He was the former owner of Gray County Abstract. He raised exotic animals and also farmed and ranched.

He was a member of Harvest Bible Church, formerly Bible Church of Pampa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Grace Lockhart.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Lockhart; two daughters, Susan Braddock of Pampa and Sharon Seymore and husband Robert of Lubbock; and four grandsons, Jay Braddock of Los Angeles, and John Braddock, Ben Seymore and Cade Seymore, all of Lubbock.
