Hillsdale pushes all-in

30 November

Beta Kappa (Hillsdale) – Three of Hillsdale College’s Greek fraternities and sororities hosted philanthropic events last week. Each of the seven houses contributes to community and national organizations with annual events.

The fraternity Alpha Tau Omega hosted a charity poker tournament. It took place on campus in the Curtiss Dining Hall. Proceeds went to King’s Kupboard Food Pantry, organized and run by Trinity Lutheran Church.

The suggested donation for each player was five cans of food. A total of about 350 cans were collected from the 40 poker players, members of ATO and other students who were unable to attend the event.

Gift certificates to the Hunt Club were the prizes to winners. ATO used money from its own social fund to pay for the prizes. Ordinarily, this fund pays for formal dances and other social events.
