Simmons receives Outstanding Senior in Broadcast Journalism Award

EPSILON UPSILON (Southern Mississippi) — Austin Randolph Simmons (Southern Mississippi ’08), a recent magna cum laude graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, received the Outstanding Senior in Broadcast Journalism Award 2010-11 as well as the Best Broadcast Sports News Package at the Southern Miss 2011 Spring Banquet and Student Showcase Awards.
He also placed first and third in best Sportscast and first place in Best Newscast in 2011 at the Mississippi Associated Press College/University Contest.
Simmons is a 2007 graduate of Mandeville High School, a USM Presidential Scholar and member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
He is the son of Bob and Mary Bess Simmons.
