Feb 24, 2013

ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE (Theta Pi)–While you were sleeping, a group of college students made a long journey – basketball in hand.

Members of University of Alabama in Huntsville fraternity Alpha Tau Omega dribbled a basketball from the University of North Alabama in Florence all the way to UAHuntsville. That’s about 64 miles. They began at 7:00 Saturday night, and ended back on campus about 4:00 Sunday morning.

According to their Facebook page, this year is the 23rd annual Basketball Dribble. The event is meant to raise awareness for their philanthropy, a food festival called Battle of the Buffalo.

All proceeds from the festival go to benefit the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation.*Original story credited to WHNT News 19: http://go.ato.org/W2k0kv
