Aug 19, 2014

GAMMA CHI (Washington State)—Washington State University said it plans to name its broadcast building after alumnus and ABC-TV sportscaster Keith Jackson.

Jackson graduated from WSU in 1954 and has donated more than $1 million to the school, WSU said in a statement.

The building will be renamed after Jackson at the broadcaster’s 60th alumni class reunion in Pullman on Sept. 12.

After graduation, Jackson became one of the first co-anchors at KOMO-TV in Seattle before joining ABC Sports in 1962. He was the main announcer for ABC college football games for 37 years.
