KAPPA NU (Arkansas Tech)—The Kappa Nu chapter of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at Arkansas Tech University has been selected as one of the top academic performing fraternity chapters in the United States by the North-American Interfraternity Council (NIC).

The NIC identified 22 fraternity chapters at universities and colleges across America that had the highest cumulative grade point average among all NIC fraternity chapters on their campus and that had a cumulative grade point average at least .50 points higher than the male student population on their campus.

With a cumulative grade point average of 3.16 during the 2012-13 academic year, the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega at Arkansas Tech qualified as one of the top 22 academic performing NIC fraternity chapters nationwide.

“We are proud to acknowledge the chapters who have exceeded their peers’ performance in academics,” said NIC President and Chief Executive Officer Pete Smithhisler. “The men in these 22 chapters are holding themselves to a higher standard, which epitomizes the spirit of fraternity done right.”
