Mr. Knuepfer is past chair of Baker & McKenzie’s Europe & Middle East Practice and former managing partner of its Budapest office. He has been regularly engaged in investment and privatization transactions representing the Hungarian government or foreign investors. He is also the past president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary. In 2013, he was appointed Foreign Economic Counsel to the Republic of Hungary.
Mr. Knuepfer focuses on corporate and commercial transactions, with an emphasis on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate finance. He provides general counsel to public and private companies on a wide range of corporate matters. He has been an adjunct professor at Northwestern University since 1995, where he teaches courses in international business transactions at Kellogg Graduate School of Management and the School of Law. He earned his JD and MBA degrees from Northwestern University, and his BA degree from Denison University where he was initiated into the Zeta Iota chapter in 1971. He is also a Former National President (1990-1992) of the Alpha Tau Omega National Fraternity.
