Lander ATOs raise cancer awareness with Bob and Victoria

Apr 8, 2010

Victoria’s Secret and Bob Marley.

While seemingly unrelated, each mean different things to different people.

This week, a Lander University fraternity is using representations of each to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

Lander’s branch of Alpha Tau Omega has been taking donations this week for the American Cancer Society. For a $10 donation to the ACS through Alpha Tau Omega, residents can receive a Bob Marley T-shirt or a shirt from Victoria Secret’s “Pink” line.

Alpha Tau Omega social services chairman Will Metts said the impetus behind offering those shirts specifically is because Bob Marley died from cancer and pink is the color most often associated with breast cancer awareness.
